AGS Marketing State Campground Directories

Campground operators are making the most of the last few weeks of summer before the kids go back to school. So too, are the husband and wife teams from AGS / Texas Advertising (TXAD), who are fanning out across the country to sell display ads in the 2018 campground directories for nearly half a dozen states.

“This is the busiest time of year for our ad reps for parks that are also busiest in summer,” said Michael Moore, general manager of AGS / TXAD. “Our ad reps are currently selling ads for state campground directories for Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, and Missouri and, for the first time, Alaska.”

While online marketing continues to grow in popularity, consumer demand for printed state campground directories remains very strong across the country, Moore said, adding that printed directories are highly sought after at visitors bureaus and welcome centers in addition to RV and camping shows.

“For campground and RV park operators that want to maximize their exposure, they really need to have a diversified advertising strategy that includes a listing and a display ad for their park in their printed state campground directory,” Moore said.

It also behooves RV dealers and aftermarket suppliers to consider advertising in printed directories.
“It’s the best targeted marketing you can get,” Moore said, adding that AGS / TXAD offers package deals that include advertising on the websites of state campground associations.

AGS / TXAD has been producing campground directories for state campground associations since 1994. Several of its directories have received national awards from the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC), including its directories for Arizona, Missouri and Texas. The company’s planned print quantities and online digital versions are as follows:

265,000 copies of the 2018 Texas RV Travel & Camping Guide, whose content will also be available in mobile friendly digital format on TexasCampgrounds.com, the travel planning website of the Texas Association of Campground Owners.

40,000 of the Illinois Go Camping 2018 RV & Camping Guide, which will also be available in digital format on IllinoisGoCamping.com, the mobile device friendly travel planning website of the Illinois Campground Association.

50,000 copies of the 2018 Tennessee RV Camping Guide will also be posted in mobile friendly digital format on CampinTennesse.com, the travel planning website of the Tennessee Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds.

50,000 of the 2018 Official RV & Camping Guide to Missouri, which will also be available in a mobile friendly digital format on CampInMissouri.com, the travel planning website of the Missouri Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds.

20,000 copies of the 2018 Alaska Campground Map & Directory will also be produced for the Alaska Campground Owners Association, which also hosts a travel planning website at alaskacampgrounds.net where a digital version of the directory will be found.

The advertising deadline for all five state campground directories is Oct. 1st and the release date for all new guides is Jan. 1st.
